Trading hours limitation

We will start working on this soon.
It will work only for running strategies (not for backtesting).
The applied trading hours limitation will limit only the opening of positions i.e. positions will only open during the selected hours but can close at any time (due to TP, SL, Exit rules)

3 I would like for example to make it NOT open a position on Monday and Friday. At the same time I would like to be able to backtest using this exeption. Thank you

I would say 2 was the closest to what I was wanting. I would like to set the time range on indexes to be the actual market hours to avoid being stopped out or entering on fanciful out-of-hours pricing/trading only for the price to return near to close once trading opens. I sometimes close positions just before the swap time manually to avoid fees; I don’t plan on automating that but the option would be great

We are prioritizing this, however I'd like to better define what you guys actually want.
By "run the strategy" in a specific time range, what do you mean exactly?
Let's say you set it to only "run" from 14:00 to 16:00.
Obviously the strategy can only open a position during that timeframe, however what happens with the open position after 16:00?
- Does it close automatically at 16:00?
- Does it remain open, ignoring Exit Rules/TP/SL until 14:00 the next day?
- Does it remain open, with Exit Rules/TP/SL all working, i.e. it can close at any time, meaning that the selected timeframe only applies to opening positions?
- Something completely different?
Please, everyone that voted, write a comment here explaining what you're after!

Nikola ProQuant:
I like 3, but I would like to have option to enable auto close at 16:00 with ability to choose - close only profitable or close any opened trade, so I would be able to test both options in generator

Глеб Горохов: I'm not sure this option would apply to backtesting. Isn't this something you turn on from time to time, based on current events/news and not something you want on all the time?

Nikola ProQuant: I would prefer that positions will close automatically.

Nikola ProQuant: I would like to have this all the time and backtest it, to make strategies for night sessions for example

We're adding a Pause functionality this week. Would this be sufficient for now? You'd have to pause/resume manually, though.

or even to close all trades before the weekend or something like that , would help prevent gap up/down shocks
